Portable Sawmill

The most convenient, efficient, and popular of our milling services. We’ll drive right up to the pile of logs, set the mill up, and begin cutting wood. There is a small set-up fee to compensate for our time though it is still much more cost-effective than hiring a log truck to bring the logs to a mill. In order to get to the milling as quickly as possible, please refer to our before we get there page. .

  • We come to you!
  • Logs when we get there, lumber when we leave
  • Live edge slabs, rounds, or dimensional lumber

Here are some suggestions to help you get ready for the big day! The one where we come mill your logs. The more suggestions you follow, the more money you save because we can get to milling your wood that much faster.

The Site:

The milling site should be able to fit a 25 foot long sawmill with a truck in front of it.

The ground should be firm, free of mud, and roughly level.

The Logs:

Trim the branches from the log as close to it as possible.

Remove all metal from the tree. Please tell us if there is a possibility of metal still in the tree as metal can ruin our blades.

Stickers are the stacking spacers that are used to allow for airflow through the stack of cut lumber for drying purposes. Please make stickers with a uniform thickness as this allows for the straightest wood when drying. We suggest 1 inch by 1 inch by 4 feet.  Let us know beforehand if you need us to bring stickers on the day of the milling.
