What is a board foot?
A board foot is the unit used to measure volumes of wood. It is equivalent to 144 cubic inches, or a board that is one foot in length, one foot in width, and one inch in thickness.
How long does kiln drying take?
21-35 days, depending on the thickness and species. 1" pine and 3" oak dry very differently. The waiting list for custom drying is typically approximately 2-4 months
Does Zeeman with Zeemill cut down trees in the city?
We can recommend local tree removal companies to begin the process and then we’ll take over when the tree is in log form.
Can I help with the milling in any way?
Absolutely! You can help with stacking the lumber, loading the logs, and turning the logs. This will save you both time and money! (Please note this is subject to change in accordance with COVID-19 regulations. Feel free to contact us for more information.)

Is there any size of log that you can’t handle?
We haven’t encountered one yet! Besides our extra-wide bandsaw mill, we also have a 72 inch chainsaw mill to mill extra wide logs.
Can you mill all winter long?
Yes, we are a year round operation.
How far are you willing to drive with your portable sawmill?
